Newark Prepares for a Community Court

In our opinion, one of the most interesting experiements in problem-solving justice and crime reduction is occuring in Newark, New Jersey. In the past two and a half years, Mayor Cory Booker and his administration have dramatically reduced crime in this city and built out important structures to continue this trend. This week, Mayor Booker announced plans to build a community court for low-level offenders, and the Center for Court Innovation has played a key role in bringing it to life.
