Many organizations in East and Central Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood have been working to help reentrants adjust to life outside of prison for many years.
Re-thinking Reentry is a new blog that chronicles the way that city and state agencies, community-based entities, and academic partners are enhancing the process of return from prison to community in Upper Manhattan. This blog will serve as a portal for information on what the Upper Manhattan Reentry Task Force and its partner organizations are doing to reduce recidivism and to enhance public safety. It will also be a clearinghouse for interesting articles, ideas, or developments in the field more broadly. If we think it will be interesting or useful, we're putting it up!
