Involuntary Committal for Public Drunkenness

The NY Times had an interesting video this week about a new initiative in Anchorage, Alaska to address public drunkenness. After a number of deaths this summer, the state passed a law that allows police officers to take people with chronic drinking programs to treatment even without their consent.
